Towns across Wake County are making it easier for families to get in touch with Santa this holiday season—and for Santa to get in touch with them in return!
The Town of Morrisville recently alerted residents that Santa Claus had contacted the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department to say that he and Mrs. Claus will be calling children ages 3-8 this holiday season if parents pre-register their children by November 29. Calls will be made on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 6-8 p.m.
The City of Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is hosting its Letters to Santa campaign again this year, allowing people to drop off letters at participating community centers between Monday, Nov. 25, and Tuesday, Dec. 17. City officials deliver the letters to Santa so he can read and reply to every letter. Families can pick up Santa’s responses at the same community center where they dropped them off on or after Wednesday, Dec. 18. Templates are available online or at participating community centers. Santa also responds to emails sent to .
Santa will also write back to kids in Cary, Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs if they send their letters via town mailboxes in time for Santa to respond and include their names and home addresses in their letters. The Cary mailbox is in Downtown Cary Park near the Christmas tree. Children can expect a letter in return for letters posted by December 10.
In Fuquay-Varina, families can submit letters beginning December 6 at Santa’s Mailbox in the gazebo at Fuquay Mineral Spring Park. The city’s art staff and volunteers will ensure Santa responds to any letters submitted by December 18.
In Holly Springs, from November 25-December 15, kids can drop letters in the mailbox in front of Town Hall at 128 S. Main Street and expect a return letter before Christmas. According to the Holly Springs website, “After children drop off letters for Santa, Holly Springs Run Club volunteers and Endurance Fence Solutions staff sprint the letters to the North Pole so that Santa can answer them before Christmas.” Thanks to these hard-working volunteers for their efforts on behalf of Wake County’s kids!
In Wake Forest, the town is once again offering its “Letters for Santa Mailbox.” As of Friday, Nov. 15, the striking red and gold mailbox will be back in Jones Plaza at the intersection of South White Street and East Jones Avenue. Kids of all ages are invited to drop off their letters through Monday, Dec. 23, for guaranteed delivery to the North Pole. Wake Forest has included a downloadable Letter from Santa that parents can personalize and send their child.
